Disinfestation

Disinfestation refers to the control and extermination of all kinds of insects, flying (mosquitoes, flies, drosophila, moths, wasps), and crawling (cockroaches, bedbugs, fleas, ants, spiders, ticks, lice, multipedes, centipedes, scorpions, termites, woodworms), in the area concerned.

Disinfestation is essential for health-regulated establishments, professional - industrial spaces and homes as insects carry infectious diseases.

Biologiki provides an integrated Disinfestation Program which is based on the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and is comprised of three steps: Prevention, Control and Extermination. A properly designed disinfestation program is based on the needs and characteristics of the space and the type of problem, and includes the following steps:

Inspection of the space for any manufacturing deficiencies (holes, cracks, gaps, lack of cleanliness and general malfunctions)
Inspection for outbreaks of infestation (usually in hard to reach places) and insect identification
Finally, the appropriate method is selected by Biologiki’s qualified technicians and the frequency of application is determined.

How often disinfestation should be applied depends largely on how infested the space is. As far as residences are concerned, it has been proven that it takes one to two disinfestations per year to keep insect populations low. Professional spaces require a higher frequency of applications throughout the year, especially when it comes to health-regulated establishments.

Control methods

Disinfestation Spraying with a low-pressure sprinkler

Low-pressure spraying diffuses an insecticidal solution to areas where insects walk, settle or nest. Spraying is used outdoors, around target areas, shafts, cracks, etc., as well as indoors in all storage areas, toilets, drainage pipes etc., after consultation and cooperation with the company manager in the respective area, or the owner of the residence. The insecticides used are state of the art, of high standards and control insects without harming humans or the environment.

Gel disinfestation

This method is mainly used for cockroaches and ants, only indoors, in sensitive areas where spraying is not recommended. Food traps are placed in the form of gels in hiding places, passages, etc. This is an odorless, non-toxic formulation and no evacuation of the space is required.

Fogging

Fogging is mainly used in industrial areas as well as outdoors. It creates a cold fog and distributes the pesticide solution evenly over a large area. Depending on the space and type of insect we are trying to control, the appropriate state of the art insecticidal solution is selected.

Spray Disinfestation with a High-Pressure Machine

High-pressure machine spraying is mainly applied to industrial, storage or high insect infestation spaces where conventional spraying is not possible. The insecticidal solution is diffused in the form of fog, thus covering all surfaces as the formulation penetrates even the most difficult areas.

Dry steam eradication-disinfection

This is a fully integrated ecological disinfestation system suitable for all types of surfaces, even including mattresses. Controls and eliminates bedbugs and their eggs, fleas and other microorganisms such as mites, bacteria, etc. without the use of chemical or insecticidal formulations. Used in Hotels, Residences, etc.

Our company uses modern methods of combating insects that pause a threat to public health (cockroaches, fleas, bedbugs, flies, wasps, lice, ticks) and the formulations used have new generation active substances that are degraded in the environment. The insecticides have very low toxicity to mammals (almost non-toxic), are harmless to residents/workers, odorless and contain no solvents, therefore they do not stain or corrode surfaces.

With the new generation active substances, we use smaller quantities of formulations as they provide an entire spectrum of action, replacing the multiple applications of different formulations. However, we must always bear in mind that no matter how safe the formulations are, we should treat them with due care.
